Location Intelligence is an emerging application of the geospatial industry. It allows professionals, with minimum expertise in GIS technologies, and from different business domains (finance, disaster management, retail, health) to use spatial analysis tools and algorithms to solve their day-to-day problems efficiently.

Location Intelligence platforms provide location analytics to identify the relationship between objects based on their physical locations and enable users to visualize trends on maps and graphics to optimize business opportunities.

Noticing a lack in geospatial technologies adoption by businesses in Algeria, TransformaTek undertakes the development and deployment of a cloud-based location intelligence platform that simplifies the ingestion, management, visualization, and analysis of open and homemade spatial datasets.

The resulting agile-built platform, Geoweba, developed using many open-source components, envisions disrupting the Algerian consulting market by making location-enabled business analysis available online anytime.

Business Model

The main goal behind developing Geoweba and making it freely available online is to demonstrate the high skill level of the TransformaTek team and its ability to architect, deploy, and maintain a cloud-based solution built entirely on open-source components.

In Algeria and many developing countries, financial resources are limited—particularly in foreign currency required to purchase proprietary software licenses and support. Businesses and government agencies can leverage open-source software and data to digitize their core processes at lower cost with the help of local actors like TransformaTek.

Nevertheless, the value proposition of Geoweba meets the requirements of many users, especially entrepreneurs with limited resources or investors who wish to experiment with scenarios and select the most viable project ideas.
